Ansedonia

Quiet resort situated on a small peninsula that reaches 114 feet above the sea, at the point where the Feniglia beach joins the Maremma coast. Ansedonia is not a typical village of the Maremma with the square, the course, the walk etc; the houses are mostly villas hidden by vegetation (which here is very lush). These villas are relatively recently built. Before the '50s on the promontory of Ansedonia stood only the ruins of the ancient city of Cosa, the towers of San Pancrazio, San Biagio and the tower Puccini. Today the villas are owned by celebrities, politicians, businessmen, intellectuals here have carved their summer "retreat". Ansedonia is a very quiet place, the streets that cross the promontory open in the green vegetation and even in summer, when it is more populated, the strongest noises are the songs of the cicadas.  At the foot of the promontory on the right and the left is the beach with restaurants on the shore, where even out of season it is pleasant to taste a piece of spaghetti or fish in front of the beach.
